The OK Movement
Meet the Principals
Two leaders. Proven records. One shared vision for a new Nigeria.
Peter Obi
Presidential Principal
Anambra State
A reformer who turned Anambra into a model of prudent governance.
Peter Obi served as Governor of Anambra State from 2006 to 2014, inheriting a state with near-empty coffers and leaving it with over ₦75 billion in savings and investments. His tenure became a national benchmark for fiscal discipline, transparency, and evidence-based governance.
Born on July 19, 1961, in Onitsha, Anambra State, Peter Obi studied Philosophy at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, before building a distinguished career in banking and business. He served as Managing Director of Fidelity Bank and held board positions across major Nigerian institutions. As Governor, he prioritised education — building and equipping schools, paying teachers' salaries promptly, and funding scholarships. He reduced the cost of governance, refused to collect security votes, and redirected savings into infrastructure and social investment. His philosophy of 'moving from consumption to production' has become the defining slogan of the OK Movement.
We must move Nigeria from consumption to production. Every naira of public money must be accounted for and invested in the people.
Why Peter is Running
Peter Obi is running because he believes Nigeria's potential is being squandered by corruption, mismanagement, and a political class that prioritises consumption over production. He wants to apply the same discipline and evidence-based approach that transformed Anambra to the entire nation.
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso
Vice Presidential Principal
Kano State
A grassroots leader who invested in people — from Kano to the nation.
Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso served as Governor of Kano State for two terms (1999–2003 and 2011–2015) and as Nigeria's Minister of Defence. He is widely regarded as one of Nigeria's most consequential state leaders, having transformed Kano's education system and built a powerful grassroots political movement known as the Kwankwasiyya.
Born on October 21, 1956, in Madobi, Kano State, Kwankwaso trained as a civil engineer at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and later earned a Master's degree from Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. He served in various government roles before his first gubernatorial term. His second term as Governor (2011–2015) is remembered for mass construction of schools, free education programmes, scholarships for thousands of students to study abroad, and a women's empowerment initiative that reached hundreds of thousands of families. He also served as a Senator representing Kano Central.
When you invest in education, you invest in the future of the entire nation. No child should be left behind because of where they were born.
Why Rabiu is Running
Kwankwaso is running because he believes the north — and Nigeria as a whole — deserves leadership that invests in human capital. He wants to replicate Kano's education and empowerment model at the federal level, ensuring every Nigerian has access to quality education and economic opportunity.
The Platform
United Under the NDC
Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have aligned with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) — a new opposition platform built to challenge the status quo and offer Nigerians a genuine alternative in 2027. Together, they represent the broadest coalition of reform-minded Nigerians in a generation.
